Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board Opens Public Comment Period for Updated Local Plan

Lexington, KY – The Bluegrass Workforce Innovation Board (BGWIB), serving 17 counties in central Kentucky, is requesting public input on the draft 2025 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Local Workforce Development Plan. This plan outlines strategies to achieve area workforce development goals and ensure programs effectively serve job seekers, employers, and other stakeholders.
The draft plan is available for review and public comment for 30 days and can be accessed at bgwib.com under the Planning tab. Feedback must be submitted no later than April 7, 2025, at 4:30 PM via the BGWIB website at this link.
WIOA-funded programs provide critical workforce development services, benefiting job seekers, laid-off workers, youth, veterans, individuals with disabilities, a
nd employers. Priority is given to veterans and low-income individuals in need of intensive employment and training support. The Local Plan undergoes periodic updates to reflect labor market and economic changes, ensuring continued effectiveness.
